Haunted Chapel is a webcam-based interactive installation that uses cards in order to make digital ghosts and ghouls move around a 3D environment in Unreal Engine. The basic interaction is as follows: the user places a card of a specific monster in front of the webcam and the monster will move based on its assigned positions. The creature positions were mapped with Machine Learning Interaction (MLI), as were the card recognition features. The Python script that allowed all of this to work was thanks toSabine Rosenburg of C-LAB.
